Amending the Dover Amendment

The Dover Amendment is the law that allowed Northeastern University to run roughshod over the Burlington community and to desecrate Mary Cummings Park with huge buildings at the highest point of the park.

Northeastern is using the Dover Amendment to commit further desecration of Nahant in order to further its aggressive growth agenda. And they have used the same tactic in Boston and other communities.

There is an active campaign to update the Dover Amendment and we suggest that people support this effort. Keep in mind that Northeastern has further secret plans to expand their campus within Mary Cummings Park, and with the current Dover Amendment, there is little that can be done to affect the size, height, or location of new buildings inside our park.

Here is a pdf about the campaign.
